Remembering Inji: a fundraiser to support wild orangutans
Portland AAZK, in collaboration with Shapes of Nature, is raising funds to support the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP). This past January, the Oregon Zoo said goodbye to a beloved member of the family. Inji was one of the oldest zoo orangutans in the world at approximately 60 years old. In that time Inji served as an ambassador to her species, inspiring countless guests to take action and support positive environmental change. Indonesia and Malaysia - where orangutans live - lose an area of forest the size of Los Angeles every year due to slash and burn agriculture. Supporting non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is just one of the many ways we can help make positive change for wild orangutans. Please consider donating or purchasing a shirt, pin, or shopping bag to show off your Orangutan pride and help us remember Inji - an orangutan who spent her life in human care to help humans care.
All proceeds will benefit wild orangutans through the support of The Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP).
